Marseille comes to San Francisco and Oakland to celebrate the diversity of French food with Villa Albertine

Villa Albertine SF organizes the 4th edition of “Something to think about” of Taste the world in Marseille, which brings influential figures from Marseille’s vibrant culinary scene to the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle from June 21 to 30. This event celebrates the American release of the French author’s cookbook and intercultural travelogue ‘Taste the World in Marseille’ Verane Frediani.

In ‘Taste the world in Marseille’, Vérane Frediani explores the city’s rich culinary heritage through 70 recipes that showcase the city’s dynamic food cultures. Marseille, with its diverse population, has cultivated an extraordinary food culture deeply rooted in Mediterranean history. Chefs from Marseille, drawing on their complex backgrounds, create a unique space for intercultural conversations through their innovative dishes.

Vérane Frediani, the filmmaker behind the Apple TV documentary ‘Goddesses of Food’, joins forces with Alexis Steinman, a food writer and translator of the new release, as well as celebrity chefs Hugues Mbenda and Georgiana Viou, the first woman of color to receive a Michelin star in France. Together they present a series of programs in which literature, film and cuisine come together.

This event series is presented in partnership with the Culinary Institute of America.
