‘The Watchers’ VOD release date confirmed

Ishana Night Shyamalan‘S’The guards‘ coming to digital platforms after its theatrical release – you can buy or rent it on VOD platforms like Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, VuduAnd Google Play Movies & TV from June 28, 2024.

The horror thriller is Ishana’s directorial debut – with a script she wrote based on AM Shine’s 2022 novel of the same name. It was released theatrically by Warner Bros. Pictures on June 7, 2024, and grossed $24.2 million worldwide.

The cast includes Dakota Fanning as Mina, Georgina Campbell as Ciara, Olwen Fouéré as Madeline, Oliver Finnegan as Daniel, Alistair Brammer as John (Ciara’s husband), and John Lynch as the professor.

What is the plot of The Watchers?

Here’s the official synopsis for The Watchers:

This forest is not marked on any map. Every car breaks down at the tree line. It is no different with Mina. She is left stranded and forced into the dark forest, where she finds a woman screaming and urging Mina to run to a concrete bunker. As the door slams behind her, the building is besieged by screams. Mina finds herself in a room with a glass wall and an electric light that activates at nightfall, when the Guardians emerge above ground. These creatures emerge to observe their captive people and terrible things happen to anyone who doesn’t reach the bunker in time. Frightened and trapped among strangers, Mina is desperate for answers. Who are the Watchers, and why do they keep the people captive and monitor their every move?

The film was produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad. The executive producers are Jo Homewood and Stephen Dembitzer.
