COE prices for cars are going up again;  Open category, company car premiums reduced

SINGAPORE – Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices finished mixed at the close of the latest tender on June 20, with car premiums slowly rising again after a decline in the previous round.

The COE price for smaller, less powerful cars and electric vehicles (EVs) in Category A rose by the largest margin, ending at $90,889.

This is an increase of 3 percent from the $88,200 in the previous tender on June 5.

The premium for Category B COEs, intended for larger, more powerful cars and electric vehicles, also rose to $102,334 – a 1.7 percent increase from $100,607 two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, COE prices for motorcycles (Category D) rose by $13, ending at $9,002.

For the Open-category COE (Category E), which can be used to register any vehicle type except motorcycles but is almost always used for larger, more powerful cars, the premium fell to $100,000 – down 1.6 percent from $101,600 previously.

Commercial vehicle COE premiums (Category C) also ended lower, closing at $69,900, compared to $70,589 previously.

A total of 3,661 bids were received in the latest tender, with a quota of 2,551 COEs available.
