Beach stages have red hot shows that are sold out everywhere.  The slate.

Thursday, June 20 is the first day of summer, but the tourist season is already in full swing at beachside bars, restaurants and concert halls. Over the coming days and nights, thousands of people will enjoy live music events, some of which are sold out in advance.

Freeman has three sold-out shows, including George Thorogood

In Selbyville, the open-air Freeman Arts Pavilion has three sold-out shows on tap.

Queen tribute act Almost Queen will rock a packed house on Friday, June 21 at 7 p.m. Delaware’s own George Thorogood & the Destroyers bring their 50th anniversary tour to Freeman on Saturday, June 22, for a show that sold out immediately and was on sale in February. Thorogood’s concert will include an opening by Joe Waters at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, June 26, Freeman will host a sold-out performance by Michael Franti & Spearhead; this show starts early at 5:30pm and features a pair of opening sets from Bombargo and Trevor Hall & the Great In-Between.

Ballyhoo returns annually to Seacrets in Ocean City

Michael Franti & Spearhead fans who didn’t get tickets will get a second chance to see them elsewhere this summer. The group returns to Delmarva next month to play the Seacrets beach stage in Ocean City. Tickets are still available for that show, which takes place on Monday, July 15 at 6pm ($59).

In the more immediate future, Seacrets will see reggae rock quartet Ballyhoo make its annual appearance on the beach stage on Wednesday, June 26 ($15, or free with local ID). Special guest The Harbor Boys kick off at 7 p.m

Country shows are red-hot tickets at Dewey’s Bottle & Cork

In Dewey Beach, the legendary Bottle & Cork is also welcoming large numbers of customers with a succession of big bookings. Country star Jake Owen will wow a sold-out crowd on Thursday, June 20. Friday, June 21 at 8:30 PM, Cork presents the long-awaited return of New Orleans rock quartet Cowboy Mouth ($35).

Country singer Sara Evans plays the Bottle & Cork on Sunday, June 23 at 8 p.m.; general admission tickets remain $45, but her more expensive meet-and-greet packages sell out in advance. Niko Moon plays in Cork on Wednesday, June 26, following an 8pm set by Jordana Bryant ($25).

Amish Outlaws bring their fun show to Rocking the Docks

In Lewes, the weekly Rocking the Docks concert series is underway, bringing audiences outside on the grounds of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal. Next up is a performance by local favorite the Amish Outlaws on Wednesday, June 26 ($35). The doors open at 5:30 PM and the band will be on stage at 6:00 PM
