Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – June 20

Jose Ramirez – Greater than 1.5 total bases

Papa Ramirez is something we should keep an eye on. Since returning from the birth of his third child, he has suffered from tears. In those two games, he had at least two hits, at least one run and at least one RBI. It’s not exactly like he was cold before, but he seems to be on fire now.

To make matters even better, he has a good history of extra-base hits against Thursday’s starter. He scored six goals on Luis Castillo in his career. Three of those are home runs and two are triples – leading to a slugging percentage of .826 against each other. Two bases should be well within his range.

Alex Bregman – Greater than 1.5 total bases

After a difficult start to the year, Bregman is finding his feet. He hit just .218 in April and then rose slightly to .221 in May. However, June was his month. He is hitting .322 this month with a slugging percentage of .885. He had a hit in all but one game during the month. That one game, which took place on Sunday in Detroit, sparked a 16-game hitting streak. I like his chance to get a few more goals here against Chris Flexen.

Keaton Winn – More than 1.5 walks allowed

This has become the standard for Winn to the point where I wonder why the projection is so low. He has walked two or more in each of his last three starts and in four of his last five. St. Louis doesn’t lead the league in walks, but at this stage they are averaging 2.99 per game. They’re walking even more at home, which gives me confidence that Winn will be handing out some freebies here.
