As the release date of the most anticipated movie of the year, Kalki 2898 AD, is approaching, fans’ expectations are also reaching a fever pitch.

Directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan, the pan-Indian film will hit the screens on June 27.

It takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, Kalki 2898 AD features Amitabh as the immortal Ashwatthama and Prabhas as Bhairava, an avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu.

Kamal Haasan plays the villain in the film. The actor will reportedly appear for around 15 minutes in the first part and over an hour in the second part. He recently completed his dubbing role in Chennai.

With less than a week to go before its release, fans and moviegoers are now guessing at its runtime and other key aspects Kalki 2898 AD.

According to reports Kalki 2898 AD, which recently completed the certification process, has a running time of 3 hours and 56 seconds.

Despite the long running time, the makers are confident in keeping the audience engaged throughout.

Kalki 2898 AD trailer leaks online

Meanwhile, the pre-release event held in Mumbai on Wednesday evening, June 19, was a huge success with all the stars in attendance.

Among other things, the makers also showed the trailer to the guests who attended the pre-release event.

However, part of the trailer leaked online after it was allegedly captured over the phone without permission.

Although the quality of the video is quite poor, it managed to grab the attention of the viewers, prompting them to urge the makers to release the official trailer.

This frenzy also translated into pre-sales. According to news reports Kalki 2898 AD has already surpassed the milestone of 55,555 tickets in North America.

The Prabhas starrer will release in multiple languages ​​worldwide.

Kalki 2898 AD recently it made headlines for all the wrong reasons when a Korean artist named Sung Choi leveled plagiarism accusations against the creators.

In his Instagram post, Choi shared one of his artworks and later deleted it, along with the screenshot of a scene from the film’s trailer, depicting a war-ravaged city. The two bore a striking resemblance.

The artist captioned the post: “Unauthorized use of the artwork is bad practice. This makes me question making art in this lawless environment.”

Shortly after the post went viral, netizens criticized the creators of Kalki 2898 AD for plagiarism of Choi’s artwork.

Meanwhile, to keep the expectations high for his film, director Nag Ashwin is releasing a series of special videos titled ‘Prelude of Kalki 2989 AD’ on social media, in which he explains the creative process behind the film.
