BARBRI takes an innovative and collaborative approach to test preparation for the NextGen bar exam

With an emphasis on innovation and collaboration, BARBRI unveils elements of its groundbreaking direction that will revolutionize bar prep, available in March 2026.

The National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) has announced the launch of the new NextGen exam July 2026 in jurisdictions where the new exam is being introduced. This NextGen bar exam is an updated, modernized version of the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE®), developed based on extensive research and feedback from exam candidates.

The upcoming BARBRI NextGen course embraces innovative teaching methods and uses teacher-driven story-driven instruction as a central part of the course. Students are introduced to key legal concepts with topic-based, animated videos that present character-driven stories that engage them in contextual learning. These video episodes feature a recurring cast of characters whose stories are designed to be remembered – keeping students entertained while strengthening their understanding.

Students who used BARBRI to prepare for the licensing exam achieved pass rates that were 25% above the national average. The skill components of the SQE are similar to those of the NextGen bar exam.
