BCCI releases home schedule, India to play 5 Tests, 8 T20Is and 3 ODIs at home

New Delhi: India will play five home Tests as part of the World Test Championship calendar before the big five-match series Down Under against Australia, as the BCCI on Thursday announced the senior men’s team schedule from September 19 to February 12.

India will play two Tests against Bangladesh in Chennai and Kanpur and will then host New Zealand for a three-match series in Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai.

Besides these five Tests, India will also play 8 T20Is and three ODIs at home. Against Bangladesh, they will play three T20Is, while against England there will be a full-fledged series of five T20Is and three ODIs between January 22 and February 12.

In fact, the final ODI against England would conclude ‘India Cricket’ (home season) as the team will then leave for the Champions Trophy, which is expected to be played in Hybrid Model as the Rohit Sharma-led side is unlikely to move to Pakistan will travel.

India’s home international season begins on September 19 in Chennai and the second Test in Kanpur begins on September 27.

The three T20Is will be played in Dharamsala (October 6), Delhi (October 9) and Hyderabad (October 12).

The New Zealand series begins with the opening Test in Bengaluru (October 16-20), followed by matches in Pune (October 24-28) and Mumbai (November 1-5).

As India embarks on a seven-week marathon tour of Australia, the five-match T20I series against England will begin on January 22 in Chennai. This will be followed by matches in Kolkata (January 25), Rajkot (January 28), Pune (January 25). 31), Mumbai (February 2). The three ODIs will be held in Nagpur (February 6), Cuttack (February 9) and Ahmedabad (February 12).
