Gladiator 2 has an early international release date as fans in North America wait for the Colosseum

International audiences are giving a thumbs up to the early release of one of the highly anticipated sequels coming out this year. However, fans in North America will have to wait a little longer to enjoy the film, which explores the aftermath of Russell Crowe’s 2000 film.

Gladiator 2 will be released internationally earlier

For those living internationally who are running out of patience as you prepare to see the extraordinary figures at the Colosseum, here’s some great news. Gladiator 2 will now be released internationally rather than to audiences in the North American region.

According to a report from Collider, the much-awaited film will be released across the world on November 15 this year.

The same report further states that the next events of Gladiator will be shown in theaters in the US and Canada on the previously announced date of November 22, 2024.

Ridley Scott’s second part of a legendary film brings together a huge cast of critically acclaimed actors. Gladiator 2 will star Paul Mescal as the new protagonist. He will be seen as the character of the adult Lucius.

In the previous film, Lucius was a young cousin of Joaquin Phoenix’s Commodus, who was the film’s antagonist.

In addition to Mescal’s talents, the cast of this upcoming film also includes talented actors such as Denzel Washinton, who will be seen as a slave turned into a wealthy merchant.

Pedro Pascal is also part of Galdiator 2, playing the role of a former military commander. Pascal’s character disobeys direct orders and eventually becomes one of the gladiators fighting for their lives.

He will be joined by May Calamawy, whose talents were showcased in Marvel Studio’s Moon Knight, while Joseph Quinn will be seen as Emperor Caracalla.

In addition to the new cast, both Connie Nielson and Derek Jacobi will reprise their roles as Lucilla and Senator Gracchus from the first film.

While speaking to Esquire about his character last year, Mescal said that while he’s “very excited” to be part of the franchise, “it’s hard to break away a little bit from the legacy of the film.”
