Freedom to play Cedar Rapids Riverkings on Saturday

Freedom to play Cedar Rapids Riverkings on Saturday

By TYLER HENRY

The Salina Liberty were dealt a curveball earlier this week when it was reported that their Saturday opponent, the West Texas Desert Hawks, would become the eighth team in the AFL to shut down operations.

Salina has been rolling with these types of punches all season and within a few days had already lined up a replacement opponent to play in their place.

This Saturday, the Liberty will host the Cedar Rapids Riverkings at Tony’s Pizza Events Center, with kickoff still scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

As this is a non-league match it will not count towards the AFL standings, where the Liberty currently sit third at 6-2 and have already scored one of five tickets to the AFL play-offs.

The game can be streamed with live audio and video on Salina Post

The Liberty close out their regular season on Saturday, July 9, when they take on Billings at 6:30 p.m.
