BREAKING: Court dismisses Sanusi, reinstates Bayero, details emerge

A Federal High Court in Kano has annulled the reappointment of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the 16th Emir of Kano. The presiding judge, Justice Abdullahi Liman, declared null and void all actions taken following the passage of the Kano Emirate Council Withdrawal Bill 2024.

However, Judge Liman had ordered that the parties should maintain their status ante.

The Court also granted the respondents’ request for a stay of the proceedings pending the hearing and determination of the case at the Court of Appeal and transferred the case to the Federal High Court 3.
