There are currently two weather warnings for Montreal, including a thunderstorm warning: The Beat 92.5

Montreal, as we try to get through this week’s heat wave, Environment Canada has issued another major weather warning for this afternoon.

According to the agency, conditions are favorable for a severe thunderstorm, which could produce strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. The storms are expected to arrive during the afternoon.

Wind gusts can knock loose objects, damage weak buildings and break tree branches. Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain are also expected. Environment Canada warns that water-related activities are unsafe due to high winds.

They are also reminding Canadians that lightning can cause injuries or worse and recommend staying indoors if you hear thunder.

The alert is in effect for Montreal and Laval.
