How to Rock at Smith Playground – NBC10 Philadelphia

Kids of all ages get ready to party at the most fun event of the year: Kidchella.

Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse, the historic playground in East Fairmount Park, is celebrating its grand 125th anniversary with a free music festival as part of the Wawa Welcome America events.

It is a community festival, but mainly aimed at children, who can relax, create and play in the park.

Dance to the tunes of Alex & The Kaleidoscope, Johnny Shortcake, City Love and more.

Before the main concert, check out local youth performers from World Cafe Live and the Philadelphia Youth Tap group, visit the art stations, eat delicious treats and participate in exclusive giveaways.

To end the evening, see the sky light up with the final glitter show. Guests may experience bright lights and loud noises during this show.

Smith Playground has been a beloved location in Philly for generations as it strives to provide opportunities for creative play for children ages 10 and under.

The celebration will take place at the Smith Playground building from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Convenient parking is offered.
