Local Life: Juneteenth Festival in Hopkins, Make Music Day, Friday Night Laser Lights, Glow Golf event

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the annual Juneteenth Festival in Hopkins kicks off on Saturday, June 22.

It’s from noon to 6 p.m. on the historic grounds of the Harriet Barber House on Barberville Loop.

There will be food trucks, an animal farm for children, as well as live performances from artists such as Cammwess, The Gospel Redeemers and more. It is free to attend.

Tomorrow, June 21, you can attend a free music festival.

‘Make Music Day’ takes place in the Koger Center from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The event was first launched in France in 1982 and is now held on the same day in more than a thousand cities in 120 countries.

Friday Night Laser Lights return to the state museum this week.

The first laser light show will be held on Friday, June 21 and will feature music from The Eagles, Elton John, The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac.

There will be food from local food trucks and a cash bar. Tickets cost 10 euros for members and 12 euros for the general public.

The Richland County Recreation Commission is hosting a series of free teen events this summer.

It starts with a Glow Golf event on Friday, June 21 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at North Springs Park on Clemson Road.

Children aged 12 to 17 are invited to connect with others from across the country.
