Melfort Car Show and Shine sees more than 100 registered cars

Greased Lightning was the theme.

MELFORT – MTACC Executive Director Cal Gratton said they had more than 100 vehicles registered for the Melfort Car Show and Shine.

More than 2,000 people attended the event, Gratton said, adding that the business community sees a substantial economic boom during the car show and shines with many participants and spectators arriving early and enjoying downtown shopping. In addition, a number of companies have embraced the Greased Lightning theme.

The Melfort Legion sold pulled pork and poutine. The Northeast Christian Fellowship again had a children’s zone with bouncy castles and children’s activities. Many non-profits sold interesting items.

There were 103 entries this year, which Gratton said is about average. He also thanked the sponsors.
