Two people were killed in Weston’s crash on Monday, authorities say – NBC Boston

Authorities say two people were killed in a fiery crash Monday in Weston, Massachusetts.

The crash happened on the east side of Route 20, near the intersection with, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release Thursday. Authorities could not say what time the crash occurred Monday.

Prosecutors say police received an automated 911 call from an Apple crash detection system in the vehicle. Officers arrived on the scene and found it engulfed in flames.

Police attempted to extinguish the fire but were unable to do so before firefighters arrived.

The driver, a 20-year-old man, and a 15-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The name of neither person has been released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, prosecutors said.
