Israel strikes back at Tel Aviv attack: Airstrike on Yemeni port

Israel has carried out an airstrike on a port in Hodeidah, Yemen. The attack is in retaliation for an attack on the Israeli city of Tel Aviv that killed one person yesterday.

The Israeli military has said it is striking military targets of the “terrorist Houthi regime” in response to hundreds of attacks on Israel in recent months. Yesterday, the Houthis claimed responsibility for an Iranian drone strike on the Israeli coastal city of Tel Aviv, killing one civilian and wounding several others.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant calls the Israeli attack a message. “The Houthis have attacked us more than 200 times. The first time they injured an Israeli civilian, we hit them. And we will do this wherever necessary,” he warns.

Houthis vow revenge

The Israeli strikes targeted oil installations in the port, killing several people, Al-Masirah TV, the Houthi movement’s main news channel, reported.

A Houthis official confirmed on X that the attack had taken place and vowed revenge. The Houthis also said they would continue their own attacks.
