Sunday brings second round of afternoon storms and flash flood warnings

JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – If you have outdoor activities planned for Sunday afternoon, it is better to do them indoors.

Rain will begin around 1:00 PM with a gradual acceleration of storm development over the next six hours. As on Saturday, isolated storms will converge into larger, stronger storms that will persist into the early evening.

Be prepared for heavy downpours which can lead to flash flooding. Driving becomes more dangerous due to aquaplaning and lightning can also be dangerous. Go indoors if you hear lightning.

Precipitation amounts may be less than 1/2 inch, but heavy downpours can still be dangerous.

Storms will affect southeastern Georgia and northeastern Florida.

1:00 p.m.: Storms start out small and isolated in interior counties near the Florida-Georgia border and southern northeast Florida counties.

Flagler and Volusia County until 6pm
