Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Debuts at #1 on Netflix Streaming Charts

There’s something weird on Netflix right now, because Ghostbusters: Frozen Realm hit the platform yesterday, immediately beating the competition and climbing to the top spot in the movies category!

If you’ve been following our reporting over the past few months, today’s news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, as Frozen Kingdom While it didn’t exactly set the box office world on fire, grossing just under $202 million worldwide against a production budget of $100 million, the film has continued to grow in audiences upon its home release. First, it immediately claimed top honors on the digital rental and sales charts upon its early May release, eventually reclaiming that position in late June. Last month’s Blu-ray and DVD launch also performed well, managing to Godzilla x Kong: The New Kingdom for the top position, and to maintain that position for two weeks.

Getting back to today’s Netflix update, below is the current top ten, which looks like: Frozen Kingdom bump Land of Evil to second place.

It should also be noted that Frozen Kingdom is only available to stream on Netflix in the United States and, due to licensing restrictions, is exclusively available through their ad-free subscription plans.
