The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris kick off Friday with an opening ceremony that will see athletes from more than 200 countries parade in boats down the River Seine, the first ceremony to be held outside a stadium.

The Games, which consist of 329 events across 32 different sports, will run until Sunday, August 11.
