Power outage and one injured after vehicle hits pole in Los Alamos – edhat

A neighborhood in Los Alamos experienced a power outage Thursday night after a car crash.

At 9:23 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to northbound Highway 101, about a quarter mile south of Alisos Canyon Road.

Emergency services found that a pickup truck with a male driver alone had crashed into a tree and a utility pole.

Heavy extrication was required to save the man, who suffered moderate injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center.

The damage to the utility pole caused a power outage in the area. PG&E was called to the scene to fix the electrical problem.

The northbound lanes were closed for a while during the cleanup. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
