  • Tomorrow: Mostly to partly sunny. Occasional afternoon showers/thunderstorms? Highs: Low to mid 90s.

Detailed forecast

What a treat we’ve had this weekend with lower humidity. It’ll stay that way today — so try to get outside and enjoy it — although it will be a bit warmer. There will be a daily chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow through Friday thanks to a persistent disturbance in the upper atmosphere. Temperatures will be fairly normal for this time of year through Wednesday, but then climb into the low 90s on Thursday and Friday.

Today (Sunday): Another fairly pleasant day for late July. The sky is mostly sunny with highs in the upper 90s to low 90s. It is definitely a bit warm, a few degrees warmer than yesterday, but the humidity is still on the low side for this time of year. The wind is light, around 5 to 10 mph, and the direction is variable. Confidence: High

This evening: A mostly clear and pleasant evening, becoming slightly more humid overnight as a light breeze from the south brings in more humid air. Lows will drop back into the upper 60s and low 70s. Confidence: High

Tomorrow (Monday): Not a bad way to start the work week, with mostly sunny morning skies. But by midday, we’ll warm up to the low to mid 90s, with perhaps some increasing cloud cover. It’ll also feel more humid, with an isolated shower or thunderstorm possible by late afternoon. Confidence: High

Tomorrow evening: Partly to mostly cloudy and increasingly humid, with a chance of an isolated shower. It will also be quite warm, with lows only in the low to mid 70s. Confidence: Medium-High

A look ahead

Tuesday and Wednesday Both will have partly sunny skies, high humidity and the chance of isolated to scattered showers and storms in the afternoon to evening. Tuesday won’t be too warm, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s, then low to mid 90s Wednesday as the heat index climbs to the mid to high 90s. Partly to mostly cloudy Tuesday and Wednesday night with lows in the low to mid 70s. Confidence: Average

Building heat is the main story Thursday and Fridaywith highs in the mid to upper 90s at least as it stands now, and heat indices rising to near or above 100. It’s too early to say much about the chance of rain, but so far at least an isolated shower or storm is possible each day. Confidence: Low-Average
