What’s the story

The Bollywood Movie Bad news has performed impressively at the box office, with an estimated net collection of ₹53.15cr India in its first 11 days of release.

The film is directed by Anand Tiwari and produced by Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective. It stars Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk and Triptii Dimri in important roles.

The film’s opening day gross was ₹8.3 crore, a figure which increased significantly in the following two days.

‘Bad Newz’ saw mixed profits in first week

The film’s box office took a rollercoaster ride in its first week. After an initial surge, Bad news saw a rise of 23.49% on the second day, with a profit of ₹10.25cr, and a rise of 8.78% on the third day with a turnover of ₹11.15cr.

However, the first Monday saw a significant drop of 68.61%, gaining just ₹3.5 cr, followed by a slight recovery on Tuesday with a gain of ₹3.75 cr, marking an increase of 7.14%.

‘Bad Newz’ saw gradual decline in profits mid-week

The income of the middle of the week Bad news showed a gradual decline.

The film earned ₹3.15cr on Wednesday, a drop of 16%, and ₹2.75cr on Thursday, a further drop of 12.7%.

Despite the fluctuating earnings, the total gross for the first week was ₹42.85cr.

This trend shows that the film is capable of generating significant revenue despite the usual weekend box office struggles.

‘Bad Newz’ rebounds in second week

In the second week, Bad news saw a decline on Friday with a gain of ₹2.15cr, marking a decline of 21.82%.

However, the film recovered over the weekend, earning ₹3.25cr on Saturday – up 51.16% – and ₹3.75cr on Sunday – up 15.38%.

On the 11th day (Monday), early estimates suggest that Bad news earned around ₹1.15cr India nett, taking its total to an impressive ₹53.15cr in just over a week and a half.
