Central government dismisses trainee officer Puja Khedkar from IAS service amid forgery case

The central government has dismissed civil services probationer Puja Khedkar from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) with immediate effect, sources said on Saturday. “Vide order dated September 6, 2024, the Central Government dismisses Ms. Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar, IAS Probationer (MH:2023), from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) under Rule 12 of the IAS (Probation) Rules, 1954, with immediate effect,” the sources said. Five killed in Manipur shootings as rocket attacks, drone bombings fuel rising violence

Five people were killed in a gunfight that broke out between the Kuki and Meitei groups in Jiribam district on Saturday morning, amid a fresh outbreak of violence in the northeastern state. Police said one person was shot dead in his sleep, while four armed persons were killed in an ensuing gunfight. Militants entered the house of the person who lived alone in a remote location about 5 km from the district headquarters and shot him dead in his sleep. Read more
