PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – On the Tuesday, Oct. 1 edition of ‘Morning Extra’ on WJHG’s website, morning host Mel Zosh discussed the latest on the aftermath and response to Helene. More than 130 people died as a result of Helene in the southeast on Tuesday morning. That number is expected to rise as search and rescue efforts continue.

Hurricane Helene made landfall in Taylor County, Florida last Thursday, September 26 as a Category 4 hurricane.
