Analysis: Leicester 0-2 Man Utd

Ahead of this match, defender Maya Le Tissier said Manchester United can improve “a lot more” despite an unbeaten start to the season.

Three successive draws led to boos and calls for manager Marc Skinner to quit after last Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa.

More than the result was the poor performance against Villa, where United had just one shot on target in 103 minutes.

Although far from perfect, United listened to Le Tissier’s words here and showed much more. They progressed more immediately and were much more willing to take shots and try something different.

They had 23 shots in total, six of which were on target – far more as would be expected from a top three challenger.

In the end they defeated a disciplined Leicester team and achieved a deserved victory.
