Plans for Truro sports center submitted to the city council

Plans to provide new and improved indoor and outdoor sports and leisure facilities in Truro have taken a step forward.

The planning application for the Boscawen Park Sports Hub building has been formally submitted to Cornwall Council.

Led by Truro City Council and funded by the Truro Town Deal, the project would include the construction of a new multi-use building with new changing facilities and flexible indoor spaces suitable for indoor sports and other activities.

City Clerk David Rodda said the facility, if approved, was expected to open in March 2026.

The Truro Town Deal Board has successfully bid for funding worth £23.6 million to support a range of regeneration projects. Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

Mr Rodda said: “This is a truly decisive phase for Boscawen Park Sports Hub and I urge local people to look at our plans and support the scheme which will deliver new sporting facilities for residents.

“The original design of the building has changed, but the overall objectives of the project remain the same and I can’t wait to see locals enjoying their new facilities.”
