Sky Sports makes decision on Roy Keane after expert confronted fan in stands | Football | Sport

Roy Keane will return to our screens for Sky Sports’ Super Sunday after the broadcaster concluded their investigation into his fiery altercation with Ipswich Town fans. The 53-year-old icon was caught on camera in a heated moment during Sky’s live coverage telling a supporter: “I’ll wait for you in the car park… Meet me in the car park.”

Following an internal investigation involving Keane and witnesses such as Kelly Cates and fellow experts Jamie Redknapp and Izzy Christiansen, the Daily mail rreveals Keane will take his place in the studio as Liverpool clash with Manchester City in a huge Premier League clash.

With City eight points behind and winless in six, their title defense looks shaky. Keane will join forces with Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Daniel Sturridge and Micah Richards for the analysis.

Keane has been a regular since 2018 and has a deal to appear in around 20 ‘Super Sunday’ shows each season. He made headlines last September when an altercation with a fan at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium led to legal action.

One Ipswich fan involved in last Sunday’s incident, 55-year-old season ticket star Neil Finbow, shared his account with Mirror Football and said: “It was the comments from the man in the middle that got him I think . He was talking about his time when he was a manager, how he treated his children.”

Finbow added: “I’ll also defend Roy Keane a bit here because it could be that the ‘I’ll see you in the parking lot’ comment is meant to talk to the guy rather than single him out. It could be misinterpreted, In retrospect, I thought he was quite aggressive.”

Finbow explained that the fan had a long-standing problem with Keane, stemming from an incident when Keane was at the club. “The guy had a problem when (Keane) was at the club when you saw him pointing out ‘when you were here in the car park you ignored my children and swore at them’, and he had a problem with that. So that’s clearly bottled up.”

Finbow did not regret confronting Keane, saying: “It’s pent-up anger. No swear words came out of my mouth, I just said ‘you’re a better pundit than a manager’.”

He downplayed the incident, comparing it to Eric Cantona’s kung fu kick, saying: “I talked to my friends this morning and they said it’s all gone viral, that’s not what I want. I’m not worried about that .But it is true.” It’s not Eric Cantona’s kung fu kick.”

“That man got a lifetime ban for throwing horrible things at Eric Cantona, but those sarcastic comments from me and the man who had a problem with his children for years… I think we pay a lot of money to go there, us hard-earned money, and I saw some trash, I guess.
