And viewers were treated to a slight change to the usual broadcast with a nod to Movember.

Movember is an annual mustache-growing event during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male suicide.

In honor of the event, Sky Sports attached mustaches to their branded microphones.

It was seen on the microphone of ex-Everton and Liverpool striker Courtney Sweetman-Kirk at the Gtech Community Stadium.

And Sky Sports presenter Lynsey Hooper, who also sported a mustache on her microphone, took a moment to explain the reason behind it.

She said, “You might also notice that we have new microphones today.

“I’ll have more chat from Courtney later, but for now I just wanted to show these as they are meant to celebrate the fundraising efforts of everyone involved in Movember this month, including our very own Simon Thomas.

“So we’ll set up the microphones to show that.”
